PHOTOLUCIDA AND CRITICAL MASS
Organized by Photolucida, Critical Mass invites photographers at any level, from anywhere in the world, to submit a portfolio of 10 images. Thousands of artists submit their best work. From this massive pool of entries, 200 portfolios are selected – and then voted on by 200 leading curators, gallerists, publishers, and other art-world superstars who select the Top 50.

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
This year’s exhibit, entitled Where Have We Been? Where Are We Going? features one image from each artist in the Critical Mass 2024 Top 50 and is thoughtfully curated by Photolucida’s Program Director, Polly Gaillard.
"Photography has long served as a mirror reflecting the complexities of our past while offering a lens to imagine our future. 'Where Have We Been? Where Are We Going?' is an evocative exploration of the temporal, social, and emotional landscapes that define the human experience. This exhibit presents a collection of photographic works that traverse memory, identity, and aspiration, inviting viewers to reflect on both personal and collective journeys."
展覧会について
今年の展示会は、 「私たちはどこにいたのか? 私たちはどこへ行くのか?」と題され、Critical Mass 2024 Top 50 の各アーティストによる画像が 1 枚ずつ展示され、Photolucida のプログラム ディレクター、Polly Gaillard が慎重にキュレーションしています。
「写真は長い間、私たちの過去の複雑さを映し出す鏡として、また私たちの未来を想像するレンズとして機能してきました。『私たちはどこにいたのか? 私たちはどこへ行くのか?』は、人間の経験を定義する時間的、社会的、感情的な風景を刺激的に探求するものです。この展示会では、記憶、アイデンティティ、願望を横断する写真作品のコレクションを紹介し、鑑賞者に個人的および集団的な旅について考えるよう促します。」
